Laser Open at Spinnaker Sailing Club

On Saturday 5th June, five of Royal Lymington Yacht Club's youth laser sailors headed to Spinnaker Sailing Club in Ringwood to take part in the Laser Open.

The racing was due to start at 10.30 but the postponement flag was raised as the sailors waited for the wind to fill in. At 11am the flag was dropped and they started to launch.

There were 2 starts, one for the standards followed by a combined start for the Radial and 4.7 fleet - we had one club representative in the Radial and four in the 4.7. The race officer put on four great races in tricky conditions, testing the young sailors' knowledge and skill.

Congratulations to all who took part and I am delighted to report that we held 3 podium positions for our club - a 3rd in the Radial fleet and a 1st and 3rd in the 4.7.
