Job Title: Sous Chef
Location: Royal Lymington Yacht Club, Lymington, Hampshire
Job Type: Full-time (45 hours per week, 5 days a week)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management and food preparation. This is a key position within our kitchen team, requiring strong leadership, creativity, and a passion for high-quality cuisine.

You’ll be involved in a wide range of catering operations, including:

  • Private functions and members’ events

  • Seasonal and discretionary dining services

  • Large-scale regatta and Club hospitality

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in running the kitchen day-to-day

  • Lead and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring high standards

  • Help plan and execute seasonal menus and event catering

  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations

  • Maintain stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation

  • Step up in the absence of the Head Chef

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior CDP experience looking to step into the Sous Chef role

  • Confident in all sections of the kitchen, with great organisational skills

  • Ability to lead by example and motivate a team

  • Creative approach to menu development and presentation

  • Strong awareness of health and safety and allergen management

  • Relevant culinary qualifications (Level 2 or 3 preferred)

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Chef de Partie to join our dynamic kitchen team. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality food for a range of services including:

  • Private functions and club events

  • Discretionary dining in our restaurant

  • Catering for regattas and seasonal sailing events

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic and a love of quality food to thrive in a varied and rewarding kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes to specification

  • Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in menu preparation

  • Maintain excellent hygiene, health and safety standards

  • Contribute to the smooth running of all food services

  • Take initiative and show creativity in your section

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a professional kitchen at CDP level

  • A passion for fresh, seasonal, and well-presented food

  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a small, close-knit team

  • Flexible, reliable, and able to thrive under pressure

  • Relevant culinary qualifications (preferred but not essential)
