Expressions of Interest – RYA Powerboat Instructor course
The Club is hoping to run an RYA Powerboat Instructor course over the winter, primarily to support club activities. The course will be four days (including a pre-assessment) and could be run over several weekends.
There will be a cost associated with attending, but we hope to make this as affordable as possible for those who are interested in using this qualification to give back to the Club (such as volunteering with Junior RIB club or WJS).

Shorebased Navigation Instructors Wanted
We are looking for freelance RYA Shorebased Navigation instructors to run some training over the winter. If you are interested, you will need to:
- Be qualified to teach the RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship, Day Skipper Theory and Yachtmaster Theory courses.
- To have ability to engage students of all ages and backgrounds.
- Demonstrate recent professional development and be aware of latest RYA teaching guidelines – perhaps by attending RYA instructor development days or shadowing other instructors.
- To be willing to contribute to a growing training centre, bringing new ideas and a modern approach.
- Will need to have strong communication and inter-personal skills.
- Will need to create a welcoming teaching environment, encouraging students to return for further training and/ or consider membership.
For the right individual, there may be the option to take on the club's Chief Shorebased Navigation Instructor appointment.
