Saturday saw Keyhaven Yacht Club hold their annual laser Grand Prix event, with seven Royal Lymington Yacht Club members making up the fleet. With each class (4.7, Radial and Standard) having their own start, racing commenced at midday in a nice 12knts of wind. The breeze picked up over the course of the event with a top gust of 28 knots by the end of racing.
For some of our younger sailors this was the first opportunity for them to put in to practice what they have been learning in our club coaching sessions over the winter months. The Bignold family managed to have a sailor in each fleet with father and sons all managing to get out on the water. A huge well done to Olly Phillips for receiving a 3rd place in the laser 4.7 in very tricky conditions.
