We’ve been reviewing our Wednesday Night Lecture & Supper Series (WNL&S) and, after feedback from both current and past members, we’ve come up with some great changes to ensure it’s more enjoyable, engaging, and sustainable for everyone!
The WNL&S has always been about bringing members together for informative, entertaining evenings, and we’re committed to keeping that spirit alive—while making it even better! To make this happen, we’ve made a few adjustments to ensure both the Club and its Members can continue to enjoy these evenings without breaking the bank.
Here’s what’s new and exciting:
- More Member-Led Lectures!
We’re inviting more of you to share your experiences, interests, and stories—whether it’s about your cruises or other passions. This brings the series closer to what matters most to our sailing community, and it’s a fantastic way to get to know one another better!
- Affordable and Value-Packed Evenings!
We’re keeping things simple with an entry fee of just £5 for all lectures. Plus, the delicious post-lecture dinner, new head chef Darren has come up with a selection of home-made dishes which are only £10. That’s a great value of £15 for both the lecture and dinner—no increase from last year!
- Easy Booking – No Cash Needed!
We’re moving towards a more streamlined booking system for your convenience. Soon, you’ll be able to book and pay for your lecture and dinner via a Club app or through the website. No need to worry about bringing cash—just book, show up, and enjoy!
We know the past year has been challenging for many, but now is the perfect time to come together, enjoy an evening with fellow members, and support the Club in a fun and relaxed way. The first lecture is just a month away, so mark your calendars!
If you have any suggestions for future talks or would like to volunteer to give a lecture, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out to our Lecture Coordinator, Andrew Sutherland, at
[email protected] or contact me directly.
