Winter lecture by Vita Heathcote and Ryan Orr
On Wednesday 24th November we're delighted to be welcoming local sailors Vita Heathcote and Ryan Orr.
Ryan and Vita both began their sailing journeys in Lymington, at Salterns Sailing Club and on the Lymington River. After progressing through Junior and Youth sailing, they are now part of the British Sailing Team with aspirations to be selected for the Paris 2024 Olympics in the mixed 470 class.
Ryvita's path to the 2024 Paris Olympics
Come along and learn how "Ryvita" began as a team, hear about their journey through Olympic sailing so far, and their goals for the future. Gain an insight into their day-to-day lives as professional athletes and what goes into an Olympic campaign. The duo would be thrilled to answer lots of questions and chat to fellow sailing enthusiasts!
The lecture will start at 18:30 prompt, so we recommend you arrive in good time to get a drink from the bar to take to your seat in the Island Room. If you have reserved a table for supper it will be reserved in the booking name in the River Room. All rooms will be well-ventilated with the CO2 monitored and recorded each week. Do remember to bring layers to keep warm as windows will be open.
Book your seat and your supper!
Members should reserve seats and order suppers no later than Friday 19th November, along with any dietary requirements. Supper will be Cottage Pie and Market Vegetables, priced at £13.50 (a vegetarian option is available on booking please request). If you would like to attend the lecture without the supper, please also reserve your seat so that we can monitor numbers.
